About Us

Neighbors Standing
Ready for You

Northeast Volunteer Fire Department isn't just a first responder — we're your neighbors, your coworkers, and the people who show up when it matters most. Founded in 1953, our department has spent decades protecting the neighborhoods, businesses, and families of eastern Meridian.

Every member of our crew trades personal time, weekend plans, and sometimes sleep for the chance to serve this community. That's the volunteer difference: we do this because we care, not because we have to.

Rapid Emergency Response

Dispatched within minutes to fires, medical emergencies, and hazardous material calls across Meridian.

Community-First Approach

Fire safety education, school visits, and neighborhood outreach programs that prevent emergencies before they happen.

24/7 Volunteer Coverage

Round-the-clock readiness powered by dedicated volunteers who answer the call whenever emergencies strike.

Community Impact

More Than a Station —
A Cornerstone

Northeast Volunteer Fire Department is woven into the fabric of Meridian. We host open houses, sponsor youth programs, partner with local schools, and show up at community events not as outsiders, but as neighbors who happen to carry the gear.

Our presence at parades, fire safety days, and neighborhood gatherings isn't just visibility — it's a reminder that help is always close by and that everyone has a role to play in keeping this community safe.
